Replatforming
Shopify migration for Singapore stores.
We migrate Singapore stores from WooCommerce, Magento, OpenCart, PrestaShop and other platforms to Shopify: products, customers, orders, content, loyalty data and POS outlets, with a redirect map and a rehearsal import before cut-over.
How it flows
- Old platform
- Data map
- Trial import
- Redirects
- Shopify
The problem
It's time to replatform when the pain of staying outweighs the fear of moving.
Ask these questions with your team: Do traffic spikes affect speed or uptime? Has security failed at a bad moment? How often do you hear “we can’t do that”? Are patches and workarounds routine? Does the team spend its time maintaining or improving? Are new features delayed by platform or agency constraints?
If several answers are yes, the risk of staying is already being paid. A planned migration turns the move into a controlled project with a rehearsal, not a weekend gamble.
What we do
What's included.
- 01
Product migration
Products, variants, images, collections and metafields mapped to Shopify's data model.
- 02
Customer migration
Customer records and addresses. Passwords cannot be transferred between platforms, so customers are invited to activate their Shopify accounts.
- 03
Order migration
Historical orders imported so customer service and reporting keep their history.
- 04
Loyalty programme migration
Points balances and tiers moved into the loyalty app chosen for Shopify.
- 05
Content migration
Pages, blog posts and policies moved and reformatted for the new theme.
- 06
POS migration
Outlets moved onto Shopify POS with locations, staff, inventory and Singapore card readers set up per store.
How it works
The process, step by step.
- 01
Audit
Inventory of data, extensions, integrations and URLs on the current platform.
- 02
Map
Field-by-field data mapping and an old-to-new URL redirect map.
- 03
Rehearse
Trial import into Shopify, checked against source counts.
- 04
Build
Theme, apps and integrations configured on the new store.
- 05
Cut over
Final delta import, redirects live, DNS switched at a planned time.
- 06
Verify
Orders, payments, tracking and search coverage checked after launch.
Questions
Asked often.
Will we lose our search rankings?
Rankings depend on more than the migration, so no one can guarantee them. What a migration controls is URL continuity: every important old URL gets a permanent redirect to its closest new page, and we check coverage after launch.
Can customer passwords be migrated?
No. Platforms store passwords as one-way hashes that Shopify cannot import. Customers keep their records and order history, and are invited to set a new password.
Which platforms can you migrate from?
We have migrated from WooCommerce, Magento, OpenCart and PrestaShop. Other platforms are possible if their data can be exported.
Is there downtime?
The old store keeps trading until cutover. The switch itself is a DNS change plus a final import of orders placed since the rehearsal.
Do we keep PayNow after moving to Shopify?
Yes, through a third-party provider. Shopify Payments in Singapore takes cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Shop Pay but not PayNow, so PayNow moves to a provider such as Stripe or HitPay, and Shopify's third-party fee applies (October 2026). We test it before cutover.
